... I am totally a beginner when it comes to understand Tolkien's languages and I'm always looking for good reference material. I recently bought a copy of Ryszard Derdzinski's Sindarin Dictionary and I wanted you to know what a wonderful job he's done with this. He's obviously put a huge amount of work into it - everything is cross-referenced, put in its grammar category, and etymological information is given. Ryszard Derdzinski's Sindarin Dictionary is now available on CD. On the date of its first publication it was the first such detailed dictionary of the language of the Grey Elves. Its editor had collected about 2000 Sindarin words found in all the published works by J.R.R. Tolkien and gave their English and Polish translations, grammar category, etymological information and sources. The Noldorin and Ilkorin words of "The Etymologies" are transformed to become similar to the Sindarin forms of the post-LotR period.
The only way in which you can obtain the Sindarin Dictionary is a CD which contains:
the actual version of the Gwaith-i-Phethdain with Sindarin Grammar and Phonology
the English or Polish version of the Sindarin Dictionary e-book in the PDF format;
the Elvish Linguistic Calendar.
All the material on the CD is free.
The proposed cost of the CD is
