Gobeth e Lam Edhellen

... I am totally a beginner when it comes to understand Tolkien's languages and I'm always looking for good reference material. I recently bought a copy of Ryszard Derdzinski's Sindarin Dictionary and I wanted you to know what a wonderful job he's done with this. He's obviously put a huge amount of work into it - everything is cross-referenced, put in its grammar category, and etymological information is given. It's made a lot of things clearer for me and I think it's a great asset for anyone interested in Sindarin. From a reader of an American magazine Beyond Bree.

Gobeth e Lam Edhellen. The Sindarin Dictionary by Ryszard Derdzinski on CD - Special Edition; November 2001 by Gwaith-i-Phethdain & Polish Tolkien Society, 86 pp., illustrated by Ryszard Derdzinski; English and Polish version, PDF format on CD, 400 MB, cover

Ryszard Derdzinski's Sindarin Dictionary is now available on CD. On the date of its first publication it was the first such detailed dictionary of the language of the Grey Elves. Its editor had collected about 2000 Sindarin words found in all the published works by J.R.R. Tolkien and gave their English and Polish translations, grammar category, etymological information and sources. The Noldorin and Ilkorin words of "The Etymologies" are transformed to become similar to the Sindarin forms of the post-LotR period.
